End of the book

Blog – Through out the entire book, Janie is quick to talk; however, she says almost nothing during the trial. Why?

I think that in the trial she dosn't really talk much because she feels that there is nothing to say. She feels that what happened, happened and there was a reason for it and it had to be that way. I also think that she really loved Tea Cake and she didn't want to think bad thoughts about him, she only wanted to think about the good times and i think part of it was maybe she didn't really think that she killed Tea Cake. Perhaps to Janie what she killed was the mad animal inside him and not really Tea Cake. Its almost like the mad animal killed Tea Cake and all that was left was the animal and Janie had to kill it or be killed.
