Explain the dream with Christ.
Joe's dream with Christ symbolizes and outlines his differences from other people who died in he war. We see this as he plays cards with a few other guys going off to war who all already know how their going to die, and he is alienated from them because he doesn't die, which one of the guys points out but then they decided to let him stay with them because they decided his fate is worse than theirs because Joe is neither among the living or the dead. He's like in his own state of being.
