Why does Joe start tapping?
Joe wants to be able to communicate with people. He wants to show them that he’s not completely disabled, that he still has a perfectly good mind. He spends much of his time sensing vibrations to try and figure out what is going on. He eventually realizes that if he can read other peoples vibrations then why couldn’t they read his. So he begins using mores code to try and communicate with the nurses.
