Joe's situation

Blog – What is Joe’s situation? Why does he compare it to drowning?

Joe was injured in the war. He lost his face, arms and legs. He is still alive but he cannot communicate all he can do is lay on his back and think. He can’t even tell the difference between dreams and reality. He compares his situation to drowning because he is like a dead weight. He is completely vulnerable and helpless, slipping between dreams and reality and that he says is like drowning.
