How to Read
It would seem to me that Hornby's writing has a lot to do with our previous blog. Its all about the philosophy of reading. Hornby talks about how we've some how got this mentality that books need to be challenging otherwise they are no good, and there for because we think their challenging we opt. not to read but to do other things such as watch tv and play video games for our lesiure. The point he seems to be trying to get across is that books should be enjoyable. They shouldn't be painfully intellectual (unless thats your style), they should entertain and enspire. They should be enjoyable something you look forward to doing rather than regretting and getting a horribly sinking feeling every time you approach the task of reading said book. He also talks about how everyone has different styles and taste and that its ok to like different books, and that just because a book is a best seller does not mean you have to read it.
