High Fidelity chapters 1-7

In this section, we are introduced to Rob at one of his lowest points. What are your initial impressions of him? What do we think about his obsession with music and top 10 lists? In answering this question, look specifically at his recounting of his various break-ups. Examine how all of his relationships are versions of his first, and then consider what the common characteristics of these relationships tell us about Rob. Ultimately, do you sympathize with Rob or not? Do you like him or not?

My initial impression of Rob... He's a guy. He almost seems to fit the stereo-typical guy, with a few exceptions. He seems confused in his relationships and never seems to fully understand the women he's with. Just like the first one he was confused and just sorta went with it and we see this with all his other relationships. I do on some levels sympathize with Rob, its not fun to b left alone and he's hurting which is understandable. As for some of his choices in his past relationships I feel that he was stupid and with some of those i don't sympathize with him. As for liking him, he seems like a pretty likable guy but like i said he makes stupid rather ignorant male choices at times, not to be sexist of anything but that stereo-typical guy attitude does come out a bit.
